The gatehouse is a charming 3 bedroom stone cottage situated within the grounds, at the entrance of the property, not far from the chateau and the pool. Stylishly decorated to a high standard of comfort and charm, good quality furnishings, white cotton bedding and the odd antique create a home away from home in this unique and beautiful location. Well equipped, the gatehouse boasts a flat screen HD TV with UK and French channels, DVD player with extensive film library, quality hifi and a modern kitchen.
In our efforts to maintain the gatehouse to the highest standards, we have embarked upon a major renovation project for 2011 which sees a loft conversion that provides a new, large, light master bedroom, a new 1st floor bathroom and a renovated shower room. The kitchen / dining room has been enlarged by the removal of an internal wall. The sitting room now features a cosy woodburning stove. A new kitchen was installed in 2009. To the rear is a hardwood terrace and outdoor dining area.
The gatehouse has its' own 800m2 private garden, but guests are free to roam the parc as they please and have exclusive use of the pool at any time, the only other swimmers being our family! Finished in 2005, the natural stone and mosaic pool is heated and uses bromine so the water does not smell or sting. It is secured to French safety norms and situated 300m from the gatehouse, next to the chateau in a very sheltered sunny spot full of plants and flowers. The pool has been awarded Piscines de France's Gold prize for Best French Pool 2007.
There is a play area for children with swings, slides and a large trampoline. For the more energetic a mountain bike track of 2.6km, (2 mountain bikes are provided) and a maze of woodland footpaths. A new addition for 2009 is a 50m (164ft) zipline in the woods. The garden lover will appreciate the park lands of the chateau and golfers can improve their handicap!
Children are very welcome. A travel cot and high chair are available on request and we have numerous children's toys, bicycles, etc. We are on hand to answer any questions you might have, and are happy to assist in finding a babysitter so you can eat out in one of the many fantastic restaurants that Quimper has to offer.
Ground floor
The bedrooms have good quality beds, with white cotton bedlinen and duvets. Towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels.
You will be provided with a remote control that opens the parc gates to allow access for your car which you can park securely.
