Kistinic Gatehouse

Sleeps Six – Three Bedrooms – Two Bathrooms

The gatehouse is a charming 3 bedroom stone holiday cottage within the grounds of Kistinic. Situated at the entrance of the property, inside the gates, the gatehouse has its own private garden, off-street parking, open access to the beautiful 15 hectare park, and is a short walk from the chateau and the swimming pool. Stylishly decorated to a high standard of comfort and charm, good quality furnishings, white cotton bedding and the odd antique create a home away from home in this unique and beautiful location. Well equipped, the gatehouse boasts a flat screen HD TV with UK and French channels, DVD player with extensive film library, quality hifi and a modern kitchen.

In our efforts to maintain the gatehouse to the highest standards, the house has recently seen many improvements, a loft conversion has provided a new, large, light master bedroom, a new 1st floor bathroom and a renovated shower room. The kitchen / dining room has been enlarged by the removal of an internal wall. The sitting room now features a cosy woodburning stove. To the rear is a hardwood terrace and outdoor dining area.

The gatehouse has its’ own 800m2 private garden with outside seating area and barbecue,  but guests are free to roam the parc as they please and have use of the pool at any time, the only other swimmers being our family and friends! The natural stone and mosaic pool is heated*. It is secured to French safety norms and situated 300m from the gatehouse, next to the chateau in a very sheltered sunny spot full of plants and flowers. The pool was awarded Piscines de France’s Gold prize for Best French Pool 2007. *The pool is heated from mid-May to mid-September where we aim for 28 degrees, but this is weather dependent. Outside of these times the pool is ready for use but will only be heated where temperatures permit.

There is a play area for children with swings, and a slide. For the more energetic a mountain bike track of 2.6km, and a maze of woodland footpaths. There is a 50m (164ft) zipline in the woods for children only. The garden lover will appreciate the beautiful park lands of the chateau and golfers can improve their handicap! We have free range chickens, and the very friendly chateau dog Poppy who will be happy to join you on a walk.

Children are welcome. A travel cot and high chair are available on request.

Aug 2013 “Probably  the most beautifully done holiday house we’ve had the good fortune to stay in. Wonderfully well equipped, stunning location, stylish and comfortable. Having the freedom to roam the parc, swim in the glorious pool, watch teenage boys fly through the trees on the tyrolienne and find the secret wells and lovely trees has been bliss. When you add in the delights of surfing at La Torche, the sweet prettiness of Locronan, the splendidly weird calvaire at Tronoen and the even weirder altar peice at Crozon, and boat trips in the bay of Morgat, it’s been a splendid holiday. And that doesn’t include the manifest delights of good food and wine everywhere you go” G. Morley London.

Oct 2015 “Nicest gite we have ever stayed in – and we have stayed in a lot – We can thoroughly recommend an autumn stay as the trees and grounds and just beautiful with all the leaves on the turn.” Charlotte, Paul, Samuel & Jacob – Guernsey.
