Once a ‘pension de famille’ for the mill workers in Pont Aven. Kermaria dates from 1850 and overlooks the River Aven. Lovingly restored to a high standard of comfort and charm, the top floor of this beautiful old house has been converted into luxurious holiday apartments for those looking for something a little different, and a stylish place to stay.

Light and spacious, with vaulted ceilings and views onto the River Aven.  Kermaria River View Apartments are furnished with art, antique and upcycled furniture; comfortable beds with beautiful bedlinen, and modern clean bathrooms. This carefully designed luxury holiday accomodation is both generous and cosy, inspring and relaxing.

The top floor of this big old house is a flexible space which can be rented as one luxurious two bedroom 90m2 holiday apartment which takes over the whole floor, or individually as two separate self contained holiday apartments. The property has its own private entrance and terrace,

Located in a pictoresque setting, tucked into a quiet spot between the historic viaduct and the river front, and yet just a short pretty walk along the Xavier Grall and into the charming town of Pont Aven with it’s museums, galleries and excellent selection of gourmet restaurants.

Step out of the door and walk along the river path and into the woods of the ‘Bois D’Amour’ where you immediately find yourself nestled in nature, and one of the most bucolique settings in Brittany, or head off to the beach and explore the areas unspoilt and stunning coastline.

We have en EV charger for our guests use by prior arrangement. There is free public parking to the rear of the property.

Fully equipped kitchen – Siemens pyrolyse oven, Induction hob, Washing machine, Fridge. Kettle, Toaster, French Press and Espresso coffee maker.

Bedroom – 160cm bed – white cotton bedlinen, wardrobe, coathangers, hairdryer, iron

Bathroom – walk in shower, sink, wc, towels.

The apartments have their own private access at the rear of the property and a shared terrace of 10m2 with outdoor seating for 2.

By interconnecting the above, the two double bedroom apartment of Kermaria takes over the whole of the top floor and, like a house on top of a house is a luxurious space of 90m2 with vaulted ceilings and river views. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom and there is an open plan kitchen living and dining area which can comfortably accommodate 4 people. You have your own private entrance and exclusive use of the terrace.

THE MOST BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED VACATION APARTMENT WE HAD EVER BEEN TO. We were 2 couples traveling together so we took the whole unit (2 apartments). High quality furnishing, very comfortable beds with 100% cotton white bed linens and soft white towels. Kitchen well equipped with lots of dinnerware and cutlery. Everything very clean, absolutely shining. Great location: At the centre of Pont Aven with direct river view from windows. Walking trail just at your doorstep, supermarket and boulangerie within 5-8 minutes walking. Claire, home owner, lives in the lower floor and is always quick to respond to any question, weather during reservation process or while staying. THIS PLACE IS A DREAM…! Wonderfully decorated with real art (no deco kitsch), this is a stylish and quiet apartment for 2 with all amenities. Fully equipped kitchen. Perfectly clean and well groomed.
Claire has an extensive library of maps and guidebooks of the region that will offer you enough inspiration for months…! She also prepared a very useful list of Restaurants, local stores, hiking suggestions, etc.
Free public parking right in front the house. Location off the touristy, busy part of Pont Aven, yet everything within walking distance.

In a picturesque location overlooking the River Aven, Kermaria Apartments are ideally located 300 m from the centre of Pont Aven. A pretty walk along the Xavier Grall takes you to the shops, galleries, fine art museum, and restaurants. Pont Aven has lots to do, you can kayak or paddle board on the beautiful river, or go horse riding in the woods. The area is stunning for walking. The apartment has direct access to the footpaths along the river through the Bois D’Amour and to the Chapelle de Tremalo. You can also walk down through the port and follow the footpath along the river all the way to Port Manech. There is so much to do and to explore. The area is renowned for its beautiful coastline and stunning beaches, a bike ride away down pretty lanes or a short 10km drive. See more of some of our favourite things to do here.

The area is host to a number of fine dining and Michelin star restaurants. Please email me if you would like help with reservations.

There is free public parking 30m. from the entrance. Access to the property is by the footpath. Nearest train stations are Quimperle, Quimper and Lorient. There is a network of EV chargers in the area, but we have our own private one which can be used by prior arrangement. If you wish to visit without a car, the nearest train station is Quimperle and contact us for details on how to get to Pont Aven.
