It gives us great pleasure when our guests are enjoy their holidays at our houses. This recent guest review at Ty Traez bought a tear to my eye, as it summed up beautifully what it is all about for us.

W and I first holidayed in Brittany as newly weds almost forty years ago, staying in a friend’s house in Audierne. Since then we’ve had many trips, with friends, parents and children. Brittany childhood holiday memories are very vivid for the latter. It’s a while since we self catered, in part because of the difficulty of finding somewhere sufficiently comfortable.
We were very much looking forward to our first holiday as grandparents whilst slightly concerned that the house would meet the rather exacting standards we all seem to have these days – too comfortable at home. We need not have worried. The house was all that we could have wished for and more. Comfortable beds with lovely bedding, plenty of hot water, showers running at constant temperature and pressure, plenty of comfortable sofas, a lovely large dining table, a really well equipped kitchen that my son and I as chief cooks especially enjoyed, a large safe garden that the toddlers loved. A lovely house in beautiful, deeply peaceful surroundings.
I’d forgotten just how lovely the area is, it was so helpful to have your detailed information on beaches and restaurants. The restaurant at Baie de Trespasses worked well for us, and W and I enjoyed a peaceful lunch at l’Etrave. We all enjoyed the lovely beaches, and runs and walks along the coast path.
The food shopping in Audierne was amazing, fantasy France, we were ‘regulars’ from our second visit to the lovely cheese stall and brilliant fishmonger. We’re all v interested in food and keen cooks (greedy?) and the wonderful food so easily sourced was a big part of our enjoyment of the holiday. The toddlers were introduced to langoustines and crab and regularly had little soles for their supper.
The weather was a little Breton, but we had some sunshine most days and no day passed without some time on a beach.
All in all, everyone had a brilliant time, with my husband saying that it was hands down, the best holiday he’s ever had. Your house was great for a party with widely varying needs, and so obviously had love, care and attention to detail poured into it. If, and it’s quite a big if, diaries can align next year, we’d love to return.
